Privacy Policy
Effective April 5, 2026. PlayVid is a browser-based tool for testing public video URLs. This page explains what the site can process, what it does not store by design, and where third-party requests come into play.
What PlayVid Processes
PlayVid works by running in your browser. When you paste a public media URL into the tool, the browser uses that value to route you to the right player or to request the media source directly from its origin.
- Pasted URLs are handled as part of the player flow. The site uses the link you provide to detect the media type, open the matching tool, and load the source in the browser.
- Your browser connects to third-party media origins. When you test a public stream, file, or embed, your browser may make direct requests to the source server, platform, or CDN.
- Hosting infrastructure may receive standard request logs. Like most websites, the hosting layer may see operational data such as IP address, user agent, request path, and timestamp for security and delivery purposes.
What PlayVid Does Not Store by Default
The core product is intentionally lightweight. It does not require an account and it does not exist to collect or warehouse your media data.
- No account registration is required. You can use the tool without creating a user profile or signing in to a PlayVid account.
- No private media upload flow is provided. PlayVid tests public URLs. It is not a cloud storage product and it is not designed to host private media assets.
- No proxy layer is used for the standard test flow. The browser talks to the source directly, which means PlayVid does not automatically pull copies of media through its own backend during normal use.
Third-Party Services and Embeds
Media hosts, platforms, and CDNs have their own rules.
If you test a YouTube, Vimeo, Dailymotion, HLS, DASH, or direct file URL, the source platform may collect request data under its own privacy terms.
Clipboard access happens only when you choose it.
If you press a paste button, the browser may request permission to read from your clipboard. If access is denied, the site falls back to manual paste.
This policy may change as the product evolves.
If PlayVid adds analytics, contact forms, accounts, or other data flows later, this page should be updated to reflect those changes.
Questions About Privacy
If public contact details are added later, this page should be updated together with the rest of the trust section.
